A laptop in your company's decommission pile could be the one that gets a foster care teenager their first paycheck.
Techie Youth upcycles donated laptops and puts them directly into the hands of young people aging out of foster care and other at-risk youth, so they can learn technology skills, build a portfolio, and earn real income from a tech-focused career.

You are already paying to decommission this equipment. Donating it to Techie Youth is likely cheaper than your current recycling/disposal arrangement.
Tax deduction
We are a registered 501c3 not-for-profit charity of NYC and can provide donation receipts and acknowledgment letters in your preferred format.
Much more environmentally friendly than recycling
We upcycle working units, ensuring that they go to someone who will continue to put them to good use. Recycling working devices destroys value that still exists; reuse keeps far more carbon out of the air than recycling recovers. Broken/damaged devices are either repaired or we try to use all of the remaining functional parts. A shredded/recycled laptop helps no one; an upcycled one can be a path to a paycheck for a teenager in foster care.
PR opportunity
If desirable, you may supply decals with your company logo or branding, and we will apply them to the laptops before gifting them to our beneficiaries. We can provide you with images of the recipients holding their new devices that were donated by your company, with your branding on them.

Devices we can utilize
- All laptops, any condition from 2011 or newer. • Chargers are appreciated but not required.
- Most tablets, smartphones, Chromebooks and portable devices from 2014 or newer.
- Working laptop chargers in bulk quantities (all brands/formats.)
- Other small devices such as Mac mini.
Unfortunately, due to capacity-limitations we cannot accept large items such as monitors, whiteboards, printers, peripherals, wires, etc.
