Today I learned about technical writing. I learned about how it is different from other writing such that it has limited literacy creativity while being primarily focused on providing detailed descriptions and instructions. Technical writing examples would be instruction manuals and installation guides. I read an article on how to become one with key points on remembering the audience and making sure your writing is cohesive.
Today I learned about guest blogging, ghostwriting, SEO, and customer service. Guest blogging allows you to expose your work to more people. It allows your content to be seen by new audiences who can become potential subscribers. Ghostwriting is when someone hires another person to write content in which the other person fully gives up the rights to their work. SEO backlinks are another way to promote your work in which including them will get your website to be listed higher in search engines. Finally, I also learned about the possible remote jobs available that deal with customer service.
Today I learned the difference between mango ones and journals. Journal writers usually study a specific topic and are experts in their respective fields. On the other hand, magazine writers do not require any specific knowledge other than writing skills. After the magazine and journal section, I moved on to the copywriting section in which I learned about the more persuasive, clear, and concise writing necessary for copywriting. Copywriters help businesses share their stories and promote their businesses online through their written content. Such content may include short advertisements, emails, etc.
Today I learned how you can earn money doing random online tasks. However, it is important to note that the money earned is relatively little compared to the time invested. As such, such jobs is better in countries where the American currency has a higher value. On the other hand, Amazon Mechanical Turk and Clickworker are such resources to earn money. I also learned the essentials of proofreading. For instance, the different between words like except and accept. I also went though previous units to find quizzes I may have missed.
Today I looked at how mail studies can make you quick money. For instance, Quotas give you points for information regarding mail you may receive. These points are then redeemable through businesses like Amazon, PayPal, and Globoforce. Likewise, SBKC also pays members to participate in studies for market research with emails and letters. Unlike Quotas, SBKC points are redeemable as VISA cards. I also learned about the psychology of MLM marketing scams and how to avoid them.
Today I worked in the elective course of Immediate Income under the section Quick Cash. I learned about how you can get paid for taking surveys or similar tasks online. Companies will sponsor the content and are willing to pay to get people to surf the internet and watch shows, etc. For example, Swagbucks is one of the most popular platforms and you will watch videos, play games, and take surveys to collect points which you can then use to cash out for actual money. Other websites I explored also include Survey Savvy and e-Rewards.
Today I explored the various different platforms where you can sell art online such as RedBubble and Etsy. I also learned how art consultants can help you grow your business and why you need an art agent. I also found out what the corporate criteria is, how corporations it chase art, how to form connections with them, and how to start selling my art to corporations. Finally, I redid my Selling Art assignment creating two new pieces integrating the Techie Youth logo and hopefully incorporating their causes.
Today I learned more about entrepreneurship. I learned how to calculate venture costs and profit margins when starting a business. For instance, there is fixed recurring expenses such as rent while there are arbitrary costs like repairs. New businesses also need to obtain funding, be branded, and create a formal legal entity which I learned about. I also learned certain psychology tips on how to deal with people and confounding tips. Finally, I redid my selling art assignment and reviewed possible art scams and the purposes of art galleries.
Today I explored with beats on Bandlab to create my own song. I played around with the different digital instruments and notes. I also used played with various loops that were offered. After recording parts with certain instruments it was interesting to move them around and arrange them. Editing the tracks and actually going through the process of making your own tune was very insightful. Finally, I published my piece on YouTube.
Today I reviewed what I learned under the music production unit. I learned more about the different platforms and how to build your presence as a music producer. I also reviewed more material from the selling art unit such as how to sell art online and the purpose of CAD. I also explored more on what IRSC codes are and their purpose. Then I researched into actual music careers such as film scoring jobs available online. Finally, I worked on the assignment for the unit.
