The most popular messaging app!

Wechat is the most popular messaging app in China. It is number 5 worldwide. I have never heard if Wechat before. In fact when reading on it today it reminded me WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a messaging app that I use to communicate with friends and families abroad. I was surprised to see how much they rely on this in China and other Asian countries. They use it for social and professional purposes. Usually we would email for important professional conversations but with Wechat you can do it all through the app. It is a multi-purpose app and I can see why it is worth so much. I was able to read articles and truly learn about how they have many benefits. Another aspect of it that I learned about is its politics. To add specific apps or have specific conversations, one must make sure that it is legal in China. There are not many things that can be spoken about and that was interesting to me. It goes to show that there really is not freedom of speech in many countries. Further I learned that it was going to be banned in the U.S. Trump actually did not want it in the U.S.

Couple of days together

This past Wednesday and Thursday I dove into social media. First I started with Instagram. Now, I am very familiar with the consumer side of Instagram. I have my own page and am constantly on it and active. So be able to learn about the behind the scenes of it was very interesting to me. I started off with learning different ways to make money off of it. There are so many social media influencers now that I was curious to know how it works. Basically, you can get a good following and receive sponsorships as well. On Thursday I learned about tiktok. I also have tiktok and even tried to get famous at one point… lol. I wanted to make a teacher page but tiktok actually charges to share your things! It was very fun to learn about this. I will continue to learn about it now.

Artificial Intelligence

Today I dove into Artificial Intelligence. I read many articles on it. Firstly, I read on the 6 branches of AI. There is Machine Learning, Neural Networking, Robotics, Expert Systems, Funny Logic, and Natural Language Barriers. These are all techniques that have to do with AI. I continued to learn more about it and found out ways to get jobs with no experience within this.

Video editing!

Today I went into a series of different content. I watched and read some videos and articles on video editing. I learned many new things. For example, I learned about what to do if you’re a first time video creator and you want clients. You would essentially work for a free until your work is able to be monetized. It is a way to expose yourself and show your work. Expecting to be paid when someone doesn’t know your work ethic is not the way to go. I watched a video on how to build your portfolio. I thought that was interesting because I never thought about this as a career. It is all new to me. It reminds me of people who are art majors; they usually start building their portfolios right away. So the video showed me different softwares to use and which are free of charge.

My Journey with Music continues!

Today I continued learning about music and different sub topics within them. First, I read an article on music theory. I had never heard of this term before so everything was complete new information for me. Music theory is a skill that producers obtain to further their careers in music. It’s a deep understanding of specific instruments. They began with the Piano. They broke down details of the instrument and what it means/does. It even broke down specific keys and how they sound or make another sound combined with a key. After reading this article I feel very informed on the basic understanding of music theory. I then furthered my understanding by reading another article that listed ten quick things I should know. What I loved about this article is how animated it was. It showed video clips of all the notes they referenced. This was very cool. Moving on, I learned that music is a huge umbrella for many other topics that it consist of. I read an article on how to understand your computer thoroughly so that you can produce the best music. That was interesting to me because I never thought about the technical aspect of music. I ended with an article that spoke on software options that are free for music production.

More music and job opportunities

Today I watched a series of videos and read articles on music. I started off with watching a music composer during a series of 5 days where he made a cover of a song. It was very beautiful and different. I have never been exposed to “behind the scenes” of music and it was very enlightening to see that process. I saw the trial and error of the process. Further, I read an article that listed some jobs that music enthusiasts can have. There are some that included a music degree. I thought this was interesting because I have seen many music majors at my college and never thought about the jobs they would offer. Further, I saw social media. Social media tends to be very popular now with all types of jobs. I found it interesting that you can have a music career like this. It made me think about all of the beats that I see on tiktok for example. Are they able to make a career off of that? Further, I read another article on entrepreneur ideas. It listed pr and marketing which I can see being very important. Today showed me all the opportunities there is within music.

Music and what it has to offer!

Today I dove into the world of music. I learned so much! First I started off with a video that introduced me to music. It spoke on rhythm and beats. I then read a series of articles. I specifically read one on Justin Timberland and I learned about his career with music. How he got into it, what inspired him and much more. I learned rhe 4 ways in which he makes a beat. I thought this was very interesting because I have never learned about that side of music. I have taken previous courses in college on the history of jazz and many other genres but not like this. A cool video that I watched was a one armed drummer. This really made me see music differently because it showed me that anyone can play music. You have to want to do it and truly be interested in it. It was very motivating to see the many talents that individuals have.

Digital Assets + Podcast

Today I covered a couple of different things which mostly fall under digital assets. I read an article and watched a video on podcasts. It went down a list of things to do when you want to start your own podcasts. Some planning that I can do now would be choosing a topic. Having a topic provides me with the ability to branch out and find sub-topics, and other ideas that can fit that main topic. Further, it spoke on having a cohost and whether or not I should or should not have one. Further, as I continued in the digital asset content, I learned about webinars. Webinars are virtual presentations. If you are hosting one it is an opportunity to engage with audience, present your idea, build on new ideas, and more. I learned about some of the tools available and how to know if a webinar is best for me. Moving on, I read an article and took an assessment on publishing e-books. It turns out that e-books are not for me. I realized that because although I consider myself a writer, it truly has to interest me. I also continued on and read on stock photos. Stock photos are colorful images added to your business. It is not to be done on your own and there are ample rules and regulations to follow for this. I thought this was extremely interesting as I had never read or heard about stock photos yet we see them all the time!

Writers, and more

Today I learned about jobs that writers have. I learned about authors and what they do. I also took a quiz for bloggers and although it did not go well, I still feel like I took something away from the course. It was very informative.

Entrepreneurship

My second day I learned a lot from business owners and what they do in their everyday life. Vanessa had a really interesting video and it was very informative. It allowed me to recognize that all business owners do things differently. One may wake up at 6am and the other may wake up at 10am. It really is about what you do to improve your business everyday.

Fundamentals of Entreprenuership

For my first day I began with the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. I saw about 10 videos total and it was very interesting. I first learned about the qualities and skills that it takes to start your own business. I was surprised to learn about the variety of people that can be leaders and how you ultimately just need a real solid idea. You need something that is going to have others want to buy it. Further, I learned about the qualities of a leader and how you need to push yourself and believe in yourself. If you do not think you are not capable, you will not achieve!
