Today I learned about Adobe Illustrator. There are a plenty of things that you can do in Adobe Illustrator such as creating your own pattern, creating symbols, logos, business cards, figures and more. Adobe Illustrator is a software in which people can create endless designs.
Today I learned more about designing objects with 3D modeling software. It was very helpful and interesting to see how some daily objects such as a bottle of perfume or a bottle of Coca-Cola was design. 3D modeling takes is about a lot of creativity and it uses a lot of seeing objects from different perspective, therefore 3D modeling requires a vast of imagination.
Today I learned 3D printing modeling. There are a vast and diverse things that can be created in a 3D printer. It was very interesting learning modeling objects and how to use the programs in order to create scenarios and objects. In 3D modeling, the plane used is tridimensional, meaning it has three dimensions, X, Y and Z. With 3D printing you can craft stuff that you can later on sell. 3D printing is a opportunity for people be creative and create things that can be helpful for their daily lives or they can be just for decoration.
Today I learned more in depth of AI (Artificial Intelligence), data mining, and machine learning. Creating AI, robots, or humanoids take a gigantic amount of time and effort. They learn but their learning process is very different from humans. In other to teach computers, you have to test it out different times in a vast and diverse ways. Humans have to collect an enormous amount of data in order to improve AI and the results.
Today at Techie Youth I have learned about niche sites. This unit is about how you can monetize niche websites and how to build them. For a niche site, it is very important to narrow down your search, in other words to not have such a broad topic. For example, if your site is about knives, what kind of knives is your site about? In addition, it is recommend to have at least 30 written articles in your site. A very useful tool that I learned today was Google Trends. Google Trends let me see and search for topics that are trending or were, in other words how many people are searching for something, vegan food, organic cloth... Google Trends is a great tool that can help you create a niche site because you can see what are people more interested about.
Today at Techie Youth I have learned about advertising digital products. In order to promote one's digital product, you can use social media platform such as Facebook Page, Instagram, and Twitter. It is very recommend to create a business account in order to monetize ads. There are different types of adds, such as video or picture ads. This unit is very important because it guides you on how to create a business profile in social media platforms and how you can add features that can help your business grow or not.
Today at Techie Youth I learned more in depth about selling digital goods. Today I learned about creating digital assets, selling those digital assets and the different types of business models. Before creating your online business, you have to make sure what is your product or service that you are intending to sell, and who is your targeted customer. When you have that, the next step is how to call those customers and how to persuade them to buy your product. Funnels are very useful to make customers take an action. It is a sale method to direct the attention to the customer to the product, to the purchase of that product.
Today at Techie Youth I concluded Entrepreneurship: Earning Income Independently unit. This unit was extremely informative about how to start your own business and what to consider before creating one. In addition, I started a new unit called "Selling Digital Goods" What I learned today about this unit is what digital goods you can sell. For example, your writing skills, a course, software, among others.
Today at Techie Youth I learned more in depth of what it takes to have a business. Creating a logo that will match to your business and people will recognize it. A website that matches your business. In addition, I learned about companies, corporation and the different types of corporations, such as B-corp., C-corp., and LLC corp. It is mostly recommend to start as a LLC corp. because later on you can switch your corporation type. Additionally, before renting a physical space, there are many thing to take into consideration before renting it. In conclusion, this unit was very informative about partnership, corporation, renting a physical space, logo, slogan and website.
Today at Techie Youth I learned more about entrepreneurship and business. Life is uncertain, therefore it is very important to always have a contingency or backup plan that will prevent a loss or a significant loss. In addition, before you start a business it is good to talk to other people about it that way you get advice or suggestions of things that can work or can go wrong with your business idea. It is also important to know who is your intended audience and what are you trying to solve or what kind of service you are trying to bring to them.
Today at Techie Youth I learned about entrepreneurship and what it takes to be a an entrepreneur. Being a leader and making the first step can be very difficult and scary, but if you are really passionate about something, you should give it a try. One of the most important tips that I learned about entrepreneurship is that you should do what you like and what you are very passionate about because at the first and small inconvenience, you will give up if it is not something that you really enjoy to do. On the other hand, if you are very passionate about that, nothing is going to stop you, you will keep up.
Today I have learned at Techie Youth websites in which artist can show and sell their work, Redbubble, Storenvy, and more. In addition, I learned how online galleries work and how they are related to artists. There are a plenty of websites in which artists can sell their work and get all their profit, since those websites are commission-free. Additionally, today I got an insight of the world of music producers, and how some artist make a living out covers, or selling beats. These units are very informative because they give an insight of work and responsibilities of these careers.
Today at Techie Youth I have learned about how to sell art online. This unit provide an insight of selling artwork online on different platforms, such as social media or websites. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Shopify, Squarespace, Etsy are places in which artists start selling their artwork at. In addition, this unit was very helpful to see and understand the process of artists who sell their work online, cost, shipping, profit, how do they promote their work? All these information was useful in order to understand the process in which they go through for their work and as a living.
Today at Techie Youth I have learned more about few social media such as Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat. It was very informative to learn how this apps work and how some people monetize their work from them. For example, some people create AR filter in Snapchat which are very fun to use and create. The more people use your AR filter, the more your name will stand out. In addition, I also learn more about scams. It is very common to receive texts, emails and even calls of people offering you such a great opportunity or people asking you for money. Scam awareness can reach out to people to prevent them to get scammed or to prevent people of being scammers.
Today I have learned at Techie Youth about social community organizing and some social media platform. This unit made me understand and notice the importance of user privacy, and how useful social media apps can be. Through social media, you can reach out to a lot of people. You can create groups or community in which you all share the same interest. Social media groups, communities and pages can open a window with a ton of opportunities, if you decide to give it time and dedication.
Today at Techie Youth I have learned about platforms to start working as a freelancer. I also learned about creating my portfolio, reaching out to clients, and how much and how to charge for my work. It was very informative, since video editing can be very broad depending on what the client wants. Creating a portfolio and a editing reel are an excellent way to show your work and call the attention of future or potential clients. They can also be as a reference of your style or your work.
Today I have learned at Techie Youth some principles of video editing. For example, what is the difference between a freelance and a staff video editor, different cuts and transitions, and the usage of color grading. These techniques and concepts help me to understand more of the magic that happens behind the scenes of a video, the amount of work, and detail that the editors have in order to tell a story. In addition, it was very helpful to hear the advice of some professionals either in video editing or audio editing because their perspective of their work is very meticulous and creative.
