There you can organize your obligations and responsibilities all in one place. I noticed anytime I get comfortable with not using one, I begin to lose my balance. You never want to waste your time or anyone else’s for that matter, so here are some tips I learned to help keep your time managed. In a work setting or business many times time is lost due to scope creaking. This is when the scope of work increases while there is no progression and the quality suffers. It’s vital to know when work is expanded, so should the schedule. To avoid this issue when more work is assigned, it’s requires more funds and or time. This is where delegation comes in. Don’t be afraid of help, dividing work to others can help the overall mission of the company when you have the right people helping you. Another note is to never invest in what you can’t control, there won’t be any growth taking place and will only be a waste of time. As mentioned earlier when managing time you can use planning tools like planners, index cards, calendars, computer programs and more. This way there is a record of all information keeping you on top of all your obligations and tasks. Another important strategy is prioritizing. For example make your to do list ranging from what is most important and what is urgent. It’s suggested to focus on what’s most important to allow you the most control over time. Some people use savings accounts to hold their unused money, however I learned that may now be the smartest thing to do because you don’t gain much from what you’re putting in. You should never commit to anything that doesn’t return the value you’re putting in yourself. Everything is an investment, your time, money and money energy should never be wasted. Continuing on, your other sources of income doesn’t have to be a direct form of employment. You can find return value in selling items you no longer use , want or need. With all your financial obligations, one thing you can do to help you stay stable is budget. Budgeting can help you to feel more organized in your spending and ultimately create better money habits for yourself. Yesterday we talked about the processes before getting the job, now we’ve moved forward and have been hired. Beginning a new job can be quite the adjustment. You’re entering a new environment, new schedule, and new set of rules. To help with this new adjustment, there’s something called onboarding. Onboarding is the process when new hires are integrated into the organization. During this process HR assists new hires in understanding job expectations, timelines and overall adjusting to your new start. At this time it’s also beneficial to ask your own questions, including what benefits are offered and are you eligible, pay schedule, whom do you report to, how to record your hours and more. In the case of remote working, there’s a different process of adjustment. It’s important you build strong connections remotely. Working remotely doesn’t have to be isolating. If you take the time out to check in with coworkers and communicate through virtual break rooms you can strengthen your connections and help create an easier flowing virtual environment. Not only that, but writing well can be key to your connections. Often times tone can be misread in any written form. When writing make sure you are being clear, using verbal cues, and using an appropriate tone exercising a soft approach to firm statements. With that being said, knowing when To take conversations from written format to video or phone communication is important. This way you can communicate clearly while letting all parties get a chance to speak. This will help grow and strengthen team relationships. Today, my eyes were opened to things I never thought even knew existed. I never recognized the importance of the processes taken prior to landing a job. The first focus of today, was resume building and cover letters. I learned there are three types of resumes: chronological, functional, and combination. Chronological is the most traditional of the three, with a conservative approach, appealing to older viewers. While functional resumes list your experiences according to your skills, with your experiences not being the main focus. Lastly, we have combination resumes which essentially is both chronological and functional in one resume. Regardless of which method you choose to use some main components stay the same, such as creating a header. This should include your name, number and email. In cases where your resume is open to the public you do not have to include your personal number however. You should write a summary of your work experience skills when applying to jobs, keeping your summary simple and strong. Next is listing your experiences and skills relevant to the job you’re applying to, using verbs to help your application stand out. This allows you demonstrate your strengths and individuality. List activities you’ve participated in, as well as awards and some personal interests. By doing so, you are allowing the viewer to get a glimpse into who you are what you can contribute to their place of business. Moving on, I now realize the importance of a cover letter. Many times I found myself applying for jobs, I was always given the option to include an cover letter, but I never saw the point of it. In this summary you’ll swiftly yet professionally list your skills that directly relate to the job’s objective and position you’re applying for. Then you submit. Now with the perfect resume you’d find yourself with an interview, now is when your focus shifts to landing the job. You first impression is everything, this is why you dress appropriately whether it’s a zoom interview or in person meeting. Wear something that shows you’re serious about getting the job, such as a nice top and business casual bottoms. When you show up ready to be hired, your potential employer will feel that energy. Now that you have your attire down pact, you zero in on how you be answering interview questions. First off, be punctual. Once there make sure you are showing engagement with the interviewer, making eye contact and listening carefully, they will notice.make sure you are speaking clearly and being conversational highlighting a professional tone as well. Remember to look over the job description so that you can relate your answers to questions back to the role you’re applying for. You can also ask questions yourself, this shows your interest in their employment. After all is said and done make sure you follow up and send an email thanking them for taking the time out to interview you. This can go a long way, and gives a peak in to your work readiness. Now that I know all of this information, I feel more confident in my ability to be hired. I’ve recognized the importance of paying attention to detail and putting your best foot forward. With knowing this, I can now apply my knew knowledge to future job explorations.

Making money remotely may sound like a good idea to most, while there are many benefiting factors. Some of which are the flexibility to work from anywhere where you want as long as there’s access to internet, no commute, the option to choose your own schedule, connecting with people from all over the world, as well as being in control of your own growth. All of these are amazing benefits however, it’s important to decide if this life path is right for you. With the recent pandemic making businesses transferred their in person jobs to remote work. This can be overwhelming for some because there can be a lack of social element that you’re used to experiencing in an in person setting. Not only that but having that much control and freedom can be new to some and without discipline can cause some to become lackluster. In the end you are making money straight from your fingertips and a screen, something that some business owners see increasing in practicality as the future
nears. Moving forward, I was interested to learn about the different pathways you can go with remote work. There are many different spaces you can find yourself in such as sales, customer service, tech, writing and so much more. It’s all about finding where you fit in and seeing where you can potentially grow. Watching several videos, I took in a lot of what was said. Something that stood out to me was life satisfactory. Now that can mean different things to different people, everyone has different desires. However it’s vital that wherever you’re placing your time and energy to is something that you love to do everyday you wake up. Get out of your comfort zone and allow yourself the flexibility to expand farther than you could’ve imagined.
