Week 5 day 15 - Web Development

What I learn in Techie Youth is the different types of roles in web development. This includes:

Project Manager

As a digital project manager, you provide focus to the team on their various projects, and you help them stay on schedule by keeping them focused and organized. Assuring the best talent is on the team is part of what they do. They manage the budget, plan, and keep track of the team's performance.

Analyst

This role serves as a mediator between clients, designers, and developers. In order to comply with the requirements set by the client, he translates the client's requests into clear specifications. Once the team has delivered these functionalities, functional analysts will test them as well.

Back-end developer

A programmer writes code to control a website's appearance. Java, .NET, and PHP are among the programming languages used by back-end developers. Web pages are created using these languages on the server. The browser fetches the pages from the server when someone visits a website. That's why we call it "server-side" or "back-end." In addition to integrating the website/app with other systems, the back-end developer also integrates it with CRM software and other websites.

Front-end developer

Front-end developers work closely with their back-end colleagues: once the page appears in a browser, layout is still needed to make the page look good. Using CSS and HTML, the developer tells the browser how to display the page visually. Additionally, front-end developers write JavaScript, which is used to create visual animations and to create dynamic applications for logging in and interacting with users.

Architect

Contrary to a back-end developer, an architect works on the infrastructure and hardware (server) on which websites run. He or she does not design the website itself but works on everything that supports it. It is their responsibility to create a website environment that is ideal.

UX designer/Graphic designer

Sometimes these roles are combined, while others are separate. User experience (UX) designers map out the website in a raw sketch (a wireframe) so visitors know how to navigate and use the website.

According to the corporate style guide, the graphic designer creates a visual style for the website. For each functionality, he also creates a visual design to guide the front-end developer as they re-create this design via code.

The (quality) tester

Before the website becomes available to regular users, this person tests every functionality that the team has made in every possible condition. He/she reports bugs to the developers when he finds something wrong. To fully test the application, the tester follows a strict plan and procedure, not just clicking around.
