Today I started the analyst unit which was a little similar to the AI unit because both require many kinds of software. It was a bit complex because Im not too computer savvy and I have zero experience with anything related to business analyst but it was still cool to learn about it. It is also cool that you can get a job in business analysis even with no experience as long as you carry the skills needed to be proficient in the field.
I completed the AI Intelligence unit. While doing the assignment, it did get really personal for me because I was able to relate as someone who went through the system growing up. I always knew that blacks and hispanics have always struggled more than asian/white youth, but looking at statistics in an excel spreadsheet through NYS Open Data really baffled me viewing those numbers. I also was not able to find any active forums so I wrote my assignment on a google doc for the time being.
Today I started the AI Intelligence Unit. My Etsy website will soon be available; I am waiting for them to verify my bank account which takes 3-5 days. They make two deposits and I've already gotten one, just waiting on one more so that I can get the site up and running and upload it to the assignment link. Tomorrow I will be able to start my assignment on AI Intelligence since I made it through almost the entire unit today which was honestly one of the most complicated units because a lot of the information is very complex and I am not computer savvy.
I finished up the niche website unit. However, when I went to create a website on Wordpress.org, I needed a hosting website so I headed over to hogsgator, but I was not aware that I had to pay over $200 to create an account and use hogsgator. Also, it kept telling me that my computer did not fully support Wordpress ( I have a MacBook). So I worked on creating my Etsy website so that I could start selling photography; it'll be up and running soon.
I am almost finished with the subunits of the Niche website unit. I left off at monetizing website traffic. Some of the information was a little more complex to understand compared to others. I have never really had an interest in creating websites so this is totally new for me but from what I have learned so far about creating a niche website is that overtime, It can generate passive income which is great and can be very beneficial. I am looking forward to starting up my niche website.
Today I started the Niche website unit and so far I love it. I literally had no idea what a niche website was or even how creating one can generate passive income over time (after six months). I learned about what not to pick as a topic and also what topics can be good. As I continue to learn more, I'll be thinking of ideas for niche websites although I already have one idea which has to do with books.
Today I worked on the digital goods unit. I learned about creating e-books, webinars, online course creations. podcasts and stocks photos. The most engaging part for me was stock photos because I have taken photography classes before and it was very enjoyable since I love nature. I am consistently taking pictures of sunsets, the moon and even flowers. I am considering selling photos for the upcoming assignment on selling digital goods.
Today I worked on the selling art online unit. I learned about all the different ways you can sell your art and the different websites that can be used. I left off at the assignment on picking a website to sell art on. I created and Etsy account but I do not have any art to sell at the moment. I am not really an artsy person.
Today I learned about artistry, modeling and creating websites. When I was younger, I use to want to model but my mom always told me that there's too much hate on the runway and too much competition which is true. I learned how to make a website today and it was amazing. I created a website on "life blogging" and titled it "A Daily Dose of Life in my 20s. It encouraged me to blog my life as I go, so I am looking forward to this and seeing where it takes me.
Today at Techie Youth, I started the art unit. So far it has been interesting although I do not really have a passion for art, I only enjoy painting for fun, it is still fun to learn about how people make a business out of art because I know that It can be hard and a lot of competition just like other things.
Today at Techie Youth, I learned about research and feedback, public relations, SEO services, online ad campaign management, transcription, and voice acting. My favorite part of todays lessons were learning about how to make money with online surveys because I have always struggled to find legit sources that I can trust to take surveys that'll pay me. I was also able to share forward what I learned to others so that they can also have a chance to have a side hustle that they can do from anywhere.
Today, I finished the writing unit and completed the assignment which I enjoyed writing. I started the providing services, exchanging your skilled time for money unit which is teaching you how skills that you may have can get you paid. This is a great unit so far because many people are not aware that the skills they possess, can get them paid so it's good to be educated. I worked on the writing and content creation, online tutoring, digital marketing and online data entry sub-units.
Today, I continued the writing unit and I completed technical writing, transcription, grant writing, poets and writers, and data entry. I enjoyed this unit because it challenged me in the sense of I got the chance to test my typing skills and now I know at which speed I typed which was a little over 40 which qualifies me for a data entry job. I also scored 2720KPH and 100% accuracy while doing the data entry assignment. I might consider a job in data entry to try it out.
Today, I continued the writing section and I learned about guest blogging, and customer service. I have over 7 years of customer service so I know a lot about it already but it was nice to learn more about it because there is always room for improvement. I also learned about work from home customer service jobs which is great because it is always hard to find WFH jobs so this lead me in the right direction and I may consider applying for one.
Today, I completed my executive summary/business proposal. It was a little harder than I thought because all I had was an idea and I did not have prior research or knowledge on the business idea I picked so I had to do some research on this business idea in order to complete my business proposal. I also worked on the writing section today.
Today I was learning about executive summaries which is a business plan. I was learning about how to properly conduct one and all the necessary steps needed. It is honestly a little complicated given that I did not really have a business idea in mind so I am still working on completing the assignment. However, I did pick a topic for my business plan and I am in the process of outlining it so that I can complete it by the next work day.
Today I learned about obtaining funding for business startups, minimum viable product (MVP) and how it works. These are steps taken after your business is ready to startup. As I am going through these videos and articles, I am starting to realize how much goes into starting a business; It is not as simple as people might think. These articles and videos also highlight the importance of teamwork and partnership when having a business. Also, when it comes to money, the goal is to always make more than you invest in your business and all the information provided helps to explain what should be done to achieve this goal. Also, the importance of MVP is crucial; it is what will determine how your business will flow and if it even does. The MVP always needs to align with whatever the goals of your team/business are.
Today I learned about different types of business entities such as sole proprietors, partnerships, cooperations, etc. I learned about the different benefits of each one and the laws behind these different kinds of partnerships. I also learned about branding and the different parts that go into building your brand image. I learned the necessary steps needed towards ensuring that you do not run into trademarking issues and or any other copyright issues.
Today I learned about executive summary, elevator pitches and exit strategies. These are all beneficials skills needed when starting your own business. Networking is always key to success because it's not about what you know, it's about who you know.
Today I continued with the entrepreneurship category and I worked on three parts which included: business model, profits models and revenue streams and identifying your customer and market. I learned about different ways a business can generate income and I learned about value proposition when it comes to your business being successful. I learned that one of the best business ideas to start up is something that you feel always lacked either in your life or for the people around you because you want to be sure that your business will prosper and that you'll have enough clientele.
Today at Techie Youth I learned about entrepreneurship and how to get started with conducting a business. I learned that the first step to starting a business is figuring out who you're going to start this business with because starting a business alone, has a low chance of being successful. I also learned that you should always tell people your idea so that they are able to give you feedback and to be a successful business person, you need to learn how to take constructive criticism. I also learned that there should only ever be one CEO and there is no such thing as a Co- CEO because there is one person people have to listen too.
