How to Change a Person

Changing a person is difficult. That is why relationships are difficult, whether it be friendships, romantic ones, or just any connection with another human being. Every individual is different and sometimes trying to understand their needs and wants or the way they think as well as why they behave the way they do could be challenging. It requires understanding and patience. This also applies to your career and your own self. It could be hard to learn about yourself and who you are.

Benefit of Being Quiet

Today I learned that there are benefits to being quiet. For example, the person you are talking to would talk more. They might go on and on and even spill things that they would not usually tell anyone else because they are comfortable talking about themself. This means that you could learn a lot about someone without even having to ask questions or talking. It also helps to bring attention to you when you want attention. A quiet person who suddenly speaks would have all eyes on them because they don’t usually talk.

Leadership Styles

Leadership styles can vary just as personalities vary. In fact, those two often go hand in hand. A person who is driven and likes things done as soon as possible may be considered a person who has a “Type A personality.” In a workplace, this could be both a good and bad thing. A good thing may be that the individual could meet the team’s goals fast. However, a con would be that the team is not as close as they could be because the leader is seen as someone who values work more than bonding and getting to know each other. It would be better to have a balance of traits especially where you can be both a person who wants to accomplish goals and one who would pause and listen in order to improve.

Identifying Your Customer

For Monday, August 1, 2022. I learned that identifying your customers is crucial to building a successful business or even launching a product that you would like to make profits from. In our economy, we have demand and supply. When there is less supply than demand, the price of a product may increase because many people want it. On the other hand, when there is more less demand than supply, it means that people don’t want the product or service. Being able to determine what drives people to want to buy something can help you predict the quantity of product you may need to produce. By being able to track customers and their wants, you can also learnt their behavior and how to cater to them.

Entrepreneurship

Today I learned about entrepreneurship and what I means to be a self-starter. I think everyone is an entrepreneur in some ways. However, being an entrepreneur when it comes to opening a business or a boss who leads a group of people could be quite challenging. For instance, you have to think not just about yourself making profit, the business making profit and the business doing well, but you also have to keep your workers happy. Entrepreneurship involves not just coming up with an idea, but executing the idea so that you can make what you dream come to a reality. Some ways to start could be planning but also taking the leap despite the fact that there may be some risks. Steve Jobs is an example of an entrepreneur.

How to Improve Time Management

Today I learned more about time-management and the importance of it. As a student, keeping track of my time is especially important since I have to balance many aspects of my life including school and personal life. Time-management can be compared to having a pie of pizza, where you can make the decision of cutting the slices evenly or not. For me, I prioritize school because I want to receive my education and invest in myself. However, I can’t dedicate my whole pie to school because that is impossible. Instead, I would say 35% is school 35% is family and friends, 15% is social life, and the other 15% is self-care. Self-care includes hobbies and personal interests to be happy.

Learning to Budget

Today I learned that budgeting could be hard, but not having any money is harder. In other words, budgeting appears to be difficult in the beginning because you have a lot of desires and wants. As humans, it is natural to want things and especially if you have the money to buy it, you would want to use that money to purchase it for happiness or satisfaction. However, saving that money could bring more happiness and satisfaction in the long-run because you could save more to buy something that is longer lasting rather than something that would only bring you happiness in the moment. Budgeting such as using tracking the money that comes in and out can help you save more and build your wealth.

In order to generate income however, it is helpful to have a large audience. For instance, having a larger subscriber count on Youtube means you have people who are interested in your content and want to watch more. Ads can be placed to help generate income.

Happiness and Satisfaction

Today I was inspired by the video, “How to Be Happy & Get Life Satisfaction…” The speaker mentioned that you don’t need to have the newest car to have a car, which means that you don’t have to be in the mindset of only doing something given the right circumstances of doing it. In other words, we do not have to wait for the perfect timing or the perfect opportunity to strive for a goal because we can take the little steps and do it right now rather than waiting. Waiting is only going to slow our progress, whereas starting now can get you to your goals faster and for you to learn while you are on the journey to it.
