Today I took a quiz on product sales and passed! Next, I started learning about shipping out products. There is a certain way packages should be packaged so that the item that you are shipping does not become damaged. You also need to prepare the package and make sure it is not overweight so you do not have to pay those fees. Additionally, you must make sure your package is labeled. After you have done all this you may ship the package. After this I moved on to the social network community organizing unit and started learning how to earn money with social network community groups and theme pages. I was not really enjoying that unit so I moved to creating mobile apps. I got to learn about the overview of working as an app developer to begin.
Today I learned about sales funnels which is how a channel/website guides you into buying items that are personalized to your likings. I also watched a video on sales funnels.
Today I learned about pricing and inventory planning. I learned about how much your products should cost when you star selling them and some pricing tips that will help me sell my products. I also learned the quantity of items I should be making to keep my business running and when I should be making these items. Then I learned more about some marketplaces which are sites where I can sell my items like eBay, Etsy, Tindie, and Bonanza. I also learned about how to sell from my own website and the pros and cons that come with that decision. I was also taught and given platfroms where I could start my own website like Shopify, Wix (which I am familiar with already), Squarespace, and Weebly.
Last week I spend most of my time watching videos to learn how to plan out digital art on different platforms. Today I started learning about clothing, jewelry, fashion items and wearable-tech and how to plan out my ideas to design my own clothing by using some platforms for the digital art chapter.
Today I learned more on how to use the sites GIMP and Inkscape to make my digital art come to life. I have been learning how to create more precise digital art and to create something that might make me some money by selling it. I have been watching a lot of videos/tutorials on how use these sites in an efficient manner.
Today I watched tutorials on many different artist softwares like Adobe illustrator (which I have used previously), Adobe photoshop, Corel Painter, Inkscape, GIMP, Krita, and Paint.net. These platforms help you plan out the digital art you may want to sell.
Today I learned how to program a microcontroller directly. You first have to add a power source. Then, add the other components that help your microcontroller operate. Next, add your choice of components and connect them to the correct pins of the microcontroller. After, choose a compatible programing language that is low level for your microcontroller. Finally, put everything together and upload it to your microcontroller using the chip-programmer. There are many articles and videos that can help you do this if you need them. Know how to do this is a step in the direction of an electrical engineer degree. I also learned how to transition projects from prototype circuit boards to microcontrollers by watching a video. I then started learning about retrofitting electronic products. Often electronic devices are depreciated overtime but that does not mean that they have no use. When retrofitting electronic products it is crucial that you are taking the proper safety precautions. Sometimes the electronic devices you are trying to retrofit may not work but you can always search for valuable parts inside the device that may be able to make you some money. I got the chance to watch some videos and read some articles on salvaging, up-cycling, and repurposing electronic products. Later on I started learning about digital art and what it takes to create and sell it. There are many different types of digital art like computer-based sketching, retouching photos, tracing and then coloring, and video installations.
I got to explore the sites Inkscape, LibreCad, and CorelDraw that are also used to create layouts for laser cutting. I also learned about what a robotic product is which is a functional object that can be interacted with physically and is powered by custom electronics and/or programmable microcontroller. I also learned how robotic products are tied to electronic engineering. Additionally, I learned about the type of robotic products that can be sold and who the customers mainly are. I was also introduced to some sites that can help you start your robotic product inventions. Arduino and Raspberry Pi are sites used to get you started with creating robotic products and programming. I then started to watch a multi part YouTube Series that was able to teach me the basics if electronic engineering and related theories to creating projects that are electronic
Today I learned how to use another platform that is used for 3D design called Blender. I also learned what laser cutting is which is using a laser to from or customize a craft that is later able to be sold. This can be done by yourself or you can have other people do it for you and then sell the crafts. I also learned about some software packages (used to plan laser cutting) that are used for laser cutting and watched tutorials on how to use them like adobe illustrator, AutoCad, and I will continue to watch tutorials on how to use other software packages tomorrow.
Today I started focusing on the unit Selling Computer-Designed Objects and Technological Crafts. I started brainstorming ideas of what I may want to sell online that involves computer designing and/or technological crafts. I started watching videos about how to use this platform called TinkerCad which is a way of showing what you are in-visioning to create using 3D design. Tomorrow I will continue to watch the tutorials on how to use TinkerCad and also learn how to use another 3D design platform.
Today I got to watch some videos on how people produce music in at home. It was really interesting to see that you are able to do this all from home and that it is possible for anyone to do it.
Today I got to review someone content about life as a business and data analyst. I got to see the requirements it takes to perform each job and what they do for a living. So far it is pretty interesting. It requires a lot of platforms and a lot of building charts to record data. Their jobs are very specific in what they need to be able to do in order to actually perform the job. Being a business and data analyst will always allow you to have a job because we are always in need of them.
Today I got to use the things I learned this week in the entrepreneurship unit to write my own executive summary. I wrote mine based on my dad's business that I occasionally work in and I got to explain the thinking behind it and the purpose that it is suppose to serve today. I also got to talk about some hardships that may be faced when handling the business and how it can be worked through or things we can do to take action. It was actually pretty fun and I would not mind writing another executive summary as long as I could come up with another business idea.
Today I got the opportunity to explore different careers on Techie youth. I skimmed most of the units and looked at a little of everything. I figured out that I enjoy the business related careers and the writing unit was also enjoyable but I am still learning more specific details about each of these units.
Today I learned about entrepreneurship and how being a leader comes it to this. Many people these days want to own and maintain their own business but this is only possible when you have the qualities of a leader. You have to be willing to volunteer yourself and take charge without letting something minor or major make you step down from your goals.
Today I learned many different jobs that can be pursued remotely like digital marketing, online modeling, voice acting, and so much more! I learned what all these careers are about and how you can start or further expand that career digitally at the moemnt.
Today I learned how to better handle my finances. I explored many different platforms that help me learn ways to store my money along with paying for things I may need to purchase at times. I found ways to help me handle my money but that also would cost me little to no money to use. Additionally, I learned many new things about working remotely. When working remotely you can be anywhere in the world and still make money. Although time management can be a struggle with working remotely, if you plan out your projects and stay determined you can do it. Finally, I learned that when working, you have to do what you love because if you don't it is just going to feel like a chore in your life. When you are doing something that you love it can overall make you a happier individual and cause you less stress because you are actually enjoying yourself.
