Today I went over entrepreneurship. Being an entrepreneur to me is something that has to be gained within confidence. I don’t believe I have the courage to be one. I have different things that I wish to accomplish so that way I have different streams of income when I am older. I just need to embrace my confidence that way those things happen. Listening to the different videos of entrepreneurship let’s me know that I just have to breath! I still have time to figure out what it is I want to do in my future.
Today, has been very productive I touched on many subjects. But over this summer I’ve been trying to find little ways to make money to save up for college. I started selling my clothes on DEPOP to add a few money to my bank account. Learning about other different ways like selling books or trading in electronics was very useful or even selling metal pieces. It great to open my horizon to stuff like that because instead of throwing things away I can make profit off of it.
Today I was back on track feeling way better than yesterday. I’ve been on the lesson for virtual assistant and I passed the quiz. This lesson is one of the ones I’ve enjoyed and it was easy to understand.
Today I tried my best to continue stay focus and energized. However, I kept falling asleep on the videos which got flagged for inactivity. I have been feeling under the weather and have not been feeling my best. I will be back at it stronger tomorrow.
Today I learnt ALL about databases. It was really hard to understand the concept even after heavily digging into the lessons. It was interesting how there are ,any different things you can do under these databases. I am still open to learning more!
Today I watched all videos instead of articles. The lessons that I continued on didn’t really require any. I watched on how to make websites and it is a long process that I’ll really have to take some time to concentrate and create. I also watched how to design databases with was very intense with the information.
Today I practice on my literacy and practice on word sentences that had errors. While also learning how to be a virtual assistant. It was useful covering zoom tips. Personally, I do not know how to use zoom because it was never any a reason to use it. To set up virtual meetings I would use google meetings.
Today, I digged deeper into what a virtual assistant is. It was seen that you have to have many skills to take up this position. I believe I have the experience because many of it said knowledge in office skills and social media. I worked with social media in high school where I promoted the BLM March to people within my community. With office skills, I was a student assistant within the main office in my school. Therefore, I have experience within those two aspects.
Today, the main lesson that stood out to me is being virtual assistance. Now we are in an era where we can work remotely due to the infamous covid-19. It is a curse that has many blessings. Having the opportunity to work remotely is one. I am glad I went through with the lesson because while being in college having a remote job will be great.
Today, I continued the lesson on domains. The subject is a little bit hard to understand due to the fact that I am not a learner where I can read and teach myself. It is easier when someone teaches me, but I am trying my best to understand. I found surprising that you can sell digital baseball cards. My dad and I have a collection of old baseball and basketball cards. So it was surprising to see how $440.00 was sold from one of the baseball cards. Now I might have to have a talk with my dad to see if there is something we can do. The investments in baseball cards have been increasing rapidly.
Today, my lesson focused mainly focused on domain names. It was surprising to learn about domain names like the cost of it, how to make money with it, and how to create one. I knew what it was like on a surface level, I just never learnt about it this deeply. It was surprising to see how the cost of a domain name range from 10-20$. I know they can range more than 20$. I thought the starting price would’ve been a little bit more. Investing has always been something I have been interested in but my ideal of investments was always in stocks, investing in a business, or flipping a home. Now, with a little bit of more knowledge I can add purchasing a domain name to that list.
Today, my lesson focused mainly advertising products on Facebook. I went through different ways to do so on Facebook. However, learning how to use Facebook business manager app instead of using the regular one for when you’re managing a business. However, I do not own Facebook because my mom never allowed me to and she still doesn’t. I don’t blame her because kids my age use that app for drama and things that do not need to include me.
Todays lesson was great. Part of my shift mainly consisted of online art. After reading and watching videos I came to the conclusion that I probably wouldn’t sell or buy online art. It’s always some type of art scam to where someone is either selling a replica, a stolen piece, or even could be advertising some thing they don’t even own. After seeing all the different ways someone can scam you or even the galleries it’s self really would make me hesitate if I ever was to buy or sell online art.
Over the course of these five hours I’ve learnt a lot. However, the main thing that stuck with me the most is learning about the copyright law. It is always important to copyright a photo that you created that way you have ownership of it. I found it surprising how you can have owner ship for your whole life and 70 years after that. My question is why only 70 years? Shouldn’t you have ownership forever? At least it is set to where you can post anything and automatically gain ownership. Another thing that I learnt today is the ability to earn money off Instagram. I always dreamt of becoming an influencer / model and the usage of Instagram might help me start somewhere. I just need to gain the confidence to do so.
