Today I continued learning the the process of creating things in different 3D software. I first went through Tinkercad and then followed up with Blender. The videos went through the basic commands that would be used when trying to create something new. The commands included making shapes, combing them, creating holes and rotating them. Just these simple commands can help to create an everyday object such as a wrench. However, if you learn more of the difficult processes, then the variety of things that you can make increases greatly.
Today I took a look at creating 3D printed objects that could be used to started a small business-like shop. The similar aspects include the economic management and the different costs that go into it. However, there was also the learning/designing process that I had to learn. This meant that I had to look at some of the 3D-modeling software available and learn what were the strengths of each and what they could provide.
Today I continued to look through the rest of the different other ways that you can earn money on the side. This time it introduced selling/trading items in that you do not need for some extra cash. In addition, there were methods shown that taught you how to possibly upgrade what you have for a fraction of the price by changing the process that is done. Overall, the methods are the types of things that can help you earn some more cash or save you some money.
Today I learned about the other ways that I could make a bit of income immediately. Those ways included different websites and companies that gave you money if you did certain tasks and had a certain skill set. The tasks range from surveys to transcribing audio files. In addition, you are paid based on how many you completed, not in an hourly fashion. This may be an efficient way to make some small cash where USD is more impactful, but in the US, this may not make that much of a difference though.
Today I learned about what to look for when you are trying to associate you company with other companies and what type of traits make people suitable for hire. When looking for companies to work with, it is important to see the relationship between the cost and long-term benefits that it would provide you with. As for hiring someone new, you should look for people who are not going to work the minimum amount to get paid and not do anything otherwise.
Today I learned about creating an online presence for a business. This means that there needs to be social media accounts and a website for the company itself where it is managed by someone. The social media accounts can be made just like any other account. However, there are a variety of ways to create the website, including other website(Wix) or coding it (HTML). The simpler method would be to create it using another website, but the downside would be that there is a chance you might need to pay in order to make it look even more premium. Both of these aspects are pretty important to keep in mind when creating a company, since technology is widely used throughout the world.
Today I learned about the design and plans that need to be considered when creating a company. The plan can also be called the executive summary, which is basically a list of what the company does and how much is planned to be spent with estimated profits. In addition, it can contain the purpose of the company and what its future goals may be. As for the design, there is the consideration of the logo, slogan, and copyright. The logo and slogan basically go together, since they are what the customer will be seeing the most. However, it is important that they do not look too similar to other competitors logos/slogans because there can be legal consequences.
Today I learned about the different ways that I could set up a successful company. The different ways can be customized to the way you want, which gives you the most profit. This includes a business model, profit model and exit strategy. All these different components can either come in to make more money than you spent to create the business or it can make it fail if not managed well.
Today I learned about the skills and traits that are needed when trying to start a business. The reason why they are important in starting a business is because the person who creates it is the leader and needs to be able to communicate and bring everyone together. This means that they are able to speak in public, negotiate with others and even make people follow them to create something even bigger.
Today I completed the second required unit on Quality of Life and began to look through other units to see what would be interesting. I decided to give Entrepreneurship a try and for now learned about what it is. Entrepreneurship is basically starting a business with the current amount of money you have (may or may not be a financial risk) and trying to create more profits from it. There are a variety of things you could do in a business, such as creating new innovations from new ideas or using previously thought of ideas and giving it a space to be spread to other people/consumers.
Today I learned about the ways to living a good and balanced lifestyle. This topic includes how to balance both your home and work life so that your body is in good condition for the long term. For physical health, getting into the habit of exercising and eating a healthy diet can boost the amount of energy that you have in day, so you are able to do more tasks. As for mental health, getting a good night sleep and thinking about your own tasks instead of worrying about others can help to increase focus while decreasing stress overall.
Today I learned about the financial aspect when it comes to making money. These aspects include making budgets and choosing between needs/wants. By budgeting, you can see how much you are actually spending on the things you buy compared to the amount that you planned to spend. This means that you can see if you are over/under-estimating the amount of money you are using. As for wants and needs, it is basically separating items you are buying between if you must have it in order to survive (food, housing, health care) and the stuff you want to have (jewelry, name-brand products) just for fun.
Today I learned about the techniques that can be used in an interview that can give you an advantage when it is time for you to get a job. The strategies include using different points of view and just showing that you are paying attention. The point of view basically means that you are trying to demonstrate to the person interviewing you what you can provide for them and that you are a good choice. Paying attention means that you need to listen more than you are talking and not interrupt, so when they ask a question you just need to answer them in a concise manner.
Today I learned about the things that I need to do in order to be ready to get a job. This includes having a resume and cover letter to having a good public image. A good public image means that when someone looks at your social media or anything related to you, they get positive feedback instead of something negative. In addition, I learned about how professionalism in real life also needs to be applied online during interviews as well, where I need to demonstrate the same amount of attention and respect as I would in-person.
Today I went through about half of the first required unit. From that unit I learned about what the Techie Youth Program has to offer and the basic steps that I will need to do in order to be successful for the next 3 weeks. It also introduced what type of mindset to have, whether it is trying something new or trying to build off what you have so far. In addition, it also talked about what ways I could make and save my money while creating online profiles and resumes to allow future companies to understand me better.
