While today is the last day of techie youth through syep I am leaving ten fold the person I was prior to this. Through my interactions inside of the course and units I came to realize many new concepts and ideas. My thinking and skills were refined as I studied different industries and markets. I can only imagine what I will be capable of now. The resources were tremendous throughout. I truly enjoyed every moment of this and am very thankful for this experience I can undoubtedly say that an experience like this is almost a necessity for the youth of today, Dear Techie Youth, keep fighting the good fight !
Today I learned about product management, in various terms of quantity and quality, in logistics, and profession and how you could make money. Logistics are important for business as it can make things go correctly with no issues. Product management and management of materials and resources are essential for operation of any entity or any thing that is purchased or will be purchased or any operation that is ran.
Today's lesson was about quality assistance, which is pretty much testing products. I always heard about this type of industry however I always felt like it is an industry that is "gatekept" which means that people are not trying to let people in. I would always see adds and such about testing products surveys and such but could never figure out how to get in. Thought today I learned that it is not just products that people can test you can test, survey, or offer feedback for many things such as hardware, policies, ideas and so on. It is a large industry with many parts and is something that should be broadcast more.
Today I learned about analyst positions, and the profession and how you could make money in the industry. I always like analytics because trends do exist and a lot of times if you look you could see what is coming. Analytics is simply comprehension of information whether it be numbers, data, results, opinions, statements and so on. If you're able to properly understand information and even compute it you could do a lot of things in life. Analytics help with almost everything do to everything being information. Existing is just information. By just being here you become part of some combination of numbers or observation. Information is everywhere.
Today I learned about recruiting, how to possibly make money off it, how some organizations use it, such as talent acquisition and such. Recruiting agencies usually have a high amount of three things. Phone numbers, emails, and names. I personally do not think I would ever attempt to join a recruiting agency or entity, as I prefer entrepreneurship over anything else however I realize the benefits of it. I remember a while ago I was watching a guy named Derrick Harper. He's a "Credit Guru" turned entrepreneur whom built himself a pretty nice empire. He talked about his acquisition of small email and phone number companies whom went bankrupt. He said that he did not buy it as a profitable business instead because those recruiter companies had long email and phone list which he could use in combination with his other businesses and services to possibly make income. That is a great idea, if you're offering a service a good way to get your service out there is to email and call people.
Today I learned about fundraising, and it really reminds me of Lobbying, and politics, although I started to connect it differently the more I thought about it. Imagine you convinced the world to give you money and then just disappear, you could just crowdfund or fundraise millions and escape somewhere. I looked into this more and came to the conclusion that fundraising is just raising money for whatever purpose. I think more people should try to access fundraisers or attempt to fundraise for whatever purpose, going to college, start a fundraiser. There are billions of people in the world. I've thought about it myself in my quest to "billionairehood". I thought about the prospect of asking millions of people for no more than 1 dollar each. However when I would reach my goal I would repay the person 10x there investment. I always thought about wealth is not redistributed enough or that people in the world do not invest in each other enough. I feel like it's important to build up those around you.
Today I learned what video editing is, ways you can make money off it, what skills are required, and where it could lead you. The video editing industry is so interesting because it has so many levels you can get as big as an academy awards nominated production or as small as a video on your iPhone, it varies in so many industries such as music videos and motion pictures. It feels like video editing has become so major that it has become its own world. I think in truth its kind of weird but in life there is nothing that you can't do and the proof for that is because everything else exist you're just one step of way from doing or creating something that wasn't done before. Music Videos, Movies, TV show, Vlogs, Streaming, Youtube, Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok. All of these things are technically different, yet so similar.
Today I learned about different services that you could provide to people in return for money, Such as Data Entry, a skill with ceilings of six figures this is a field that is more than fruitful and always in need. Or even digital marketing, which similarly has ceilings of six figures as well. It is also constantly need as brands are forever in competition and trying to put themselves in a position to reach the most consumers. Transcription, the field of listening and writing what you hear is also very plentiful and In need just as SEO services is. In life if you can provide people a service they will pay. If they are convinced that whatever you are providing is worth the value paid you will be able to achieve sales.
Today's lesson was an interesting one, artificial intelligence is a topic that is as equally hopeful as it is disastrous. Many people see AI as the future of the world. It could bring so much to society, efficiency, autonomy, and even peace. Imagine how advanced technology could change many areas of life, in the medical field robots or programs could help detect situation changed during surgery or even add precise work when needed. For driving, no more rush hour stress, put it in cruise and let the computer drive til you feel like it again. However there's always what if, what if technology advances so far that it overpowers humanity, what if our brilliant creation becomes our destroyer. As straight out of a sci-fi novel it seems it is possible. We've seen it before, like Frankenstein. The amazing promise for the future determines that it's creator is no longer necessary or has become a threat to the environment. I plan to myself develop an effective and powerful artificial intelligence system to act on the more hopeful aspects of artificial intelligence and because I believe that similar to humans , the right creator could make something good.
This week has been pretty hectic so far, as I feel overloaded with the routine trials of life I had unfortunately found out that my vehicle had been stolen and had to go through a few days of confusion, curiosity and most importantly a proclamation of faith. Not only in myself but faith in the divine essence of life and that I would eventually rise from the situation. Through the constant tracking of my vehicle and review of previous work I was able to finish and go over a lot of my work. My vehicle was fortunately recovered which I am utmost thankful for.
Today was pretty similar to yesterday, with me going over past work and what not. I keep getting this familiarity this summer and even so much as this whole year were it feels like I am having to go over past decisions or choices and work. It's as if I am constantly improving or building upon what I have already done. I am happy that I am able to take the time and do things like these as a lot of people just fly through life and do not really try to improve until later years, now I am only 20 a fresh 20 at that as my birthday was last week. However I really want to make this life count, there is a lot of things that I desire and would love to accomplish, and I feel like the only way I will be satisfied is if I am at the very top of the world. Somedays it feels as if I am in a rat race for perfection, constantly trying to improve myself to be the best Darren in all the multiverse. I feel that content will only lead to my downfall and that I must keep myself steadily pacing forward so that I can reach out and grasp the world. I refuse to let these years go by and then I am forced to look at a shell of myself, I refuse to be someone who has given up on hope and have become just a cog in the machine that is earth. I refuse to let that light that shines inside of me to just become a flicker. I will remain a raging fire until I have encompassed the universe.
Today I took the time to go over previous assignments and tests that I had not scored so well on and to try and improve them. In this process of analyzing and identifying errors in my work, I was able to find out something new about myself. I had finally figured out why I had been earning those scores. When reading a question for a test I do not completely read it, I only read up until I have thought that I had found the answer. However because of this I miss out on the entire question and am actually only answering part of the question. I am more grateful that through simply going over my work I was able to find the reason for the errors in my work. Had I just kept going on without self reflection I could have continued to do this in my work and scored wrong in the future.
Today I learned about niche websites which are websites that target specific groups and capitalize off of search engine request due to them bearing group specific names or keywords and thus take advantage of web traffic. I realized that when creating a niche website you must be very very specific on your themes or main goals with this website. I also learned the importance of niche websites as they allow people to reach their goals faster because it allows you in your research to arrive at specific sites that are similar or relative to where you are trying to reach.
Today's lesson was about selling digital products such as streams, games, art, music, and so on. It was really interesting to get to see the minute details of this industry and market as many people today emphasize the low difficult of gaining profit through social media. Today I was able to learn the specific requirement for different sites that enable you to monetize your products, videos, etcetera. I also learned of possible partnerships that many different brands offer for monetization. I also learned of the difference in monetization per platform. Most platforms offer a base profit via streams, and then the occasional ad revenue profit. However many brands will use computer algorithms to push your content to the top of the page or just to generate more user interaction. Many different partnerships also offer incentives for hitting follower goals or like goals. However this made me more interested in being the AD provider rather than the person promoting the AD. Realistically it also pushes me to inquire more about our world. Theoretically if someone had enough money and power they could potentially buy out competition via purchasing all the "AD space" or even pay for content creators and websites to not recommend or show competitors. Overall this was a very interesting lesson and one that I won't soon forget. Today's lesson can be summed up with a quote from the famous Winston Churchill, a very respectable yet ominous quote that remains a timeless masterpiece. "History is written by the Victors".
Today I went over the social media unit, and I learned that when it comes to marketing, one of the most important things to focus on is consistency. You want your brand or market to be so ever-reaching that nobody else can get there message across. Techie Youth has profiles and content across a multitude of platforms which can easily help contribute to or expand their reach. That brings me back to an overall point of versatility and how important versatility is in business. You have to be able to cover multiple fields or in a sense be similar to a swiss army knife. The more you can do and cover the further you will able to go.
Today I learned about writing, different writing types, and aspects. I learned about content writers and different features of writers and writing, and blogging. I even was assigned a task to write a piece about Techie Youth, which was very fun in it's process. Though I wouldn't say today was very jam packed one thing that I will take with me is that a Blog post is not supposed to sound like a presentation of information. It should instead sound like a conversation and flow like one, all the while sliding little facts in it here and there to grasp the audience attention and keep them hooked! I am excited for tomorrow however as the Unit is selling digital goods!
Today's lesson was about products, in the business aspect of product placement, logistics, anticipating gains and losses based on specific variables associated with your product and more. Overall what I gained from this lesson is that when creating a product for your business there is a lot that goes into it. You must properly prepare and execute and such not. There are even formulas to predict where your business will go. I would recommend any new business owner who has a product that has to be manufactured or bought to do this and look at the signs. Prevention is always better than cure.
First and foremost I would like to thank you guys for the opportunity to work with you guys this summer through syep, after viewing your introduction videos and what not, I am a full on believer in what you guys are doing. I would also like to thank whoever is making those sweet videos where he gives business advices and etcetera, I believe he is the founder. All of those videos are packed with impactful and useful information, However I won't draw this on for too long some things I picked up today were, To even in a crowd of 500 plus, you must strive for eye contact with an entire crowd. Another thing I learned is that you should always push to control a market of sorts, and that you must keep in mind that you shouldn't think or aim small. If your desire is to take over the world you must rise up and grab it. Whatever your dreams are you must chase them unapologetically and fully believe. In life there are no handouts and it is entirely on you to bring your dreams to reality, although you must have faith in the divine and continue to strive over each and every hurdle. Competition is also a necessity, comparable to all fields, if the United States never had Russia they would not be so great, if Michael Jordan did not have to worry about the rest of the NBA he would've never rose to greatness, you must study your competition and use them to propel you to heights unknown, Along with that you must calm your ego, a great leader must listen and keep people who can see what you cannot, and that is a way to keep you in power for longer. Some more things I learned were how you must have a passion to start a business and follow entrepreneurship. Again as stated earlier I do not know how long this is supposed to be but overall I have learned a lot and am very grateful for the opportunity as my dream is to become the biggest entrepreneur in the history of the world and to ultimately change the world for the better.
