During today's Techie Youth I learned all about Retrofitting electronic products and how I can repurpose, cycle, and salvage pieces into creating items that are popular in the market. Additionally, it was really interesting learning about all the interconnected and technical skills required but also the safety aspect to keep in mind during the process. Not to mention, it was a great space to question about what items are currently unpopular and which ones would be beneficial for people in the future.
In today's Techie Youth, I was able to understand the various purposes for laser cutting. In specific, I came to know of the ways in which small objects can be creating and without taking in consideration outsourced 3D printing
Through Techie Youth today, I was able to learn how to work proficently with Solidworks. I learned how to construct parts from an architecture plan in addition to how to navigate the platform with expertise. I plan to apply my knowledge in how to effectively use platforms similar to Solidworks that are free to compare and contrast the benefits and limits of each.
In today's Techie Youth work, I learned about how I can better use platforms such as Autodesk Meshmixer and Autocard by Autodesk. I learned how I can use different features from each platform to draft different work such as creating an octopus to replicating sections from an architecture plan. In doing so, I began to be curious in how I can apply this knowledge and draft ideas of my own for my own projects or projects asked of me.
In today's work at Techie Youth I learned all about how trying to change who someone is will not be beneficial for one's business. In specific, I learned that trying to change people to go beyond what they're comfortable with/ their boundaries can not always be ideal and that it may lead to poor performance. Concerning lack of correlation and sustainability with a customer's work, firing someone can be tough but necessary to do. In such scenarios, those in charge should make sure they're not alone, the environment is right, and that they don't explain in-depth the reason for firing someone.
In today's Techie Youth work, I learned all about what creating a MVP is all about and how it influences finances and customers. Not only is an MVP universally recommended for every business, but it also minimizes launch costs and lowers the financial risk. Therefore, the MVP is important to consider when determining reoccurring expenses, per-customer sales, and arbitrary costs.
Techie Youth taught me today how important it is to branding oneself properly and to figure out one’s business entity. Specifically, through Techie Youth, I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of being a sole proprietor to a business vs. having co-founders. This became increasingly important when considering profit distribution and lawsuits against a corporation. I also learned about the marketing genius behind the strategic design of a slogan, domain name, and logo for a company to its customers.
Through today's work at Techie Youth, I learned all about the approach at which businesses use to determine which audience to target. Specifically, I learned that the competition a business is against adds complexity to who one's customer is and who the business is trying to gain the attention from. Given the degree of defensibility, the ability to provide a solution or happiness to a customer and exit strategy can be immensely affected.
Being a leader in the business field and encapsulating that mindset is essential to succeeding not only in social media but also in the journey of being an entrepreneur. I learned that being confident, extroverted, and believing in your work is a key component to networking and seeing the success of your work.
I learned today about how Snapchat is another useful platform for one to outreach and promote their business on. I learned about how engagement in Snapchat can look like following other users, doing giveaways, and being interactive in one's posts. Additionally, Snapchat is also a way to gain profit through features such as face filter creations.
Today I learned all about how pinterest and twitter are great platforms to gain a following. I learned things from how each platform works, what special features each has that can affect how big of a following I can have, and how interacting on each can result in positive results.
I learned today the usefulness of having a presence in platforms such as WeChat and Facebook. I learned tips on how to grow a support in all these platforms, how you can monetize money from it, and how each have their own rules that regulate how one markets on them.
