I learned today at teachie youth about music production. It was a very interesting unit to me since making music is a hobby of mine. It is very interesting to see the process other people go through and how they make their music.
Today I began to learn how to make money from music production. I watched videos and read articles that informed me on how the music industry works which helped me understand how I could make profit from music. I enjoy listening to music and think it is incredible how we have technology that allows us to make music from our own home with a computer. I began to watch videos that techie youth provided me which began showing and demonstrating how on a computer one can make beats and music! I am excited to finish this unit to hopefully make my own music as well.
Today I spent a lot of my time on a techie youth assignment which I shared a business plan that I had started in college last semester. Techie Youth has provided me with resources that allowed me to edit my business plan and understand key aspects I might have missed before. I also continued the unit on crafts and how crafts can make income as well. This unit has been interesting for me because I enjoy crafts and learning more on how to make crafts online and designs as well.
Today I learned the process of obtaining sales and clients for your business as well as the hiring process. I found it important to understand the role a boss should take when being in a leadership position, because it will determine how the company thrives. The videos techie youth provided me were very helpful because they provided a lot of tips that would not regularly be discussed when starting a business. My main takeaway from today is communication is key.
Today I continued learning about the planning and behind the scenes of starting a business. The most important part for me was understanding the importance of partners and how helpful it can be for your business growth. Also understanding your market and customer demand, without customers and consumers a business cant thrive and grow.
Today at Techie Youth I learned how to successfully work remotely and also got to learn about avoiding scams. It was interesting to read all the possible ways scams could occur and I was happy to learn about it in order to avoid them in the future. I also focused on the importance of networking with people, in a lot careers networking is essential in order to spread your wings and learn from other professionals who are able to help you along the way. I then began my unit on entrepreneurship i which I started to look over business models and the importance in understanding your own business and also all the businesses around you in order to grow. The biggest take away for me was learning how making fast mistakes is not a bad thing, but can actually be beneficial because it only means you can bounce back faster.
Today at Techie Youth I enjoyed learning about how to master the job interview and process of getting hired. The tips and tricks I got from the videos Techie Youth provided were very informational and I especially liked the Mock interview video because it provided me with a practice round of what an interview would be. I have had many interviews already before but it is always good to learn from mistakes and learn more about how to get any job you want. I began to dive into how to work a successful remote job, and thought the videos on being "Zoom-call ready" were very important because now adays a lot of meetings are virtually, such as scholarship interviews, job interviews, and job conferences. I look forward to continue learning more tomorrow!
Today at techie youth I learned about the importance of how one presents themselves to the world. I learned about when applying to jobs we must use a well-made resume and cover letter to present our best foot forward. I enjoyed the most learning about resume building strategies in order to better my resume. I am a college student and I hope that when I graduate I will be able to find a job. Techie Youth also has advised me in how to make appropriate social media platforms for myself.
Today at Techie Youth I began to learn different ways to make money online. I covered understanding how to stay motivated and thrive while working remotely. I learned how platforms such as social media can be a great way to expand your business and put yourself out there remotely. I also learned there are great ways anyone can make money using the stock market. There is a lot of resources such as apps like Robinhood that allows people who don't know a lot about crypto currency and stocks invest and watch their money grow. I personally would like to try Robinhood and invest a bit of my money into the market.
Today I learned how to better improve my quality of life and focus on aspects sometimes looked over. It is important to understand that in ones life we should be aware of our finances, health, and productivity in order to make our lives the best. I learned how important it is to manage your time and make the most of it. As well as taking care of your health to present the best version of yourself at an interview for a job or internship. Also a key takeaway was to not be afraid to ask for help. Such as seeking a mentor and admiring role models that will help you grow and develop your skills. A mentor is a great way to have someone give you guidance and assist you as you are starting your own career and path.
Today I learned about management. I learned tricks and tips on how to properly manage my time and my finances. This has been very helpful to me as a college student still trying to figure out my way living alone with the bear minimum support of my parents. I think is it very interesting how management falls into so many categories: time management, mental health management, financial management and more
Today at techie youth I went over creating robotic products in which one can sell and create profit. There are various websites and products that can help master how you can make a robotic product. I specifically looked at many small products using the Arduino software because it gave example projects that one can adapt to make your own. I looked over the coding for a nightlight and was able to see videos of how to set up the hardware before you set up the coding. I also looked at other software such as Raspberry Pi, which also serves as a method to set up your coding for your robot. I was fascinated by the amount of projects a small amount of research and coding that has been created by others. Such as DIY RC cars and even a cat robot! Techie youth has provided me with the materials to learn more about how to create my own robotic products that I could potentially sell and make profit.
