Today I learned that business analysts must determine the organization's true needs, not only the stated desires of the stakeholders. To accurately assess the situation and identify any and all difficulties, they will communicate with a wide range of people, including the workers, executives, the IT department, and customers. The business analyst will frequently act as a mediator and aid in communication between the various departments of the company. So today I did more research on stock photo and went with adobe stock because it's free and easy to work with. I had some good nature photos but for some reason weren't uploading so it took forever to finally work. I submitted this inside of Bear Mountain photo which in review now. So today I worked on this entrepreneur assignment which was making a business plan/executive summary. Since I had no clue on what to write about I began from the start and went with a coffee shop. It is essential to determine whether the lifestyle of a potential career will suit you before committing. As long as there are clients and a market for it, online entrepreneurship is unique in that you may launch your business by simply offering a product or service inside any area that interests you.
Today I learned how to develop a business idea. First things first is passion in which you like something that you do and is a hobby which can become something more. Next is complaints, you see something that you don't like so you try to find a solution. Ego is next in which you want to make something even better because you know you can. Take taxi and uber/lyft for example. They saw something not so great with taxi so uber and lyft were created to make it better for some people. Value drives all future decisions, innovations, and customer focus because it is the foundation of any organization. Value proposition is a sentence or paragraph that succinctly describes the work that your company or organization does, the people it benefits, and its worth. Advice that is given that it isn't good to share you business plan or idea but in reality that's incorrect because it's good to share it out there in order to to get feedback/ideas so don't fear that someone may take your ideas.
Today I learned that there are two different types of entrepreneurship which are small and medium enterprise entrepreneurship and innovation driven enterprise entrepreneurship. SME are like small company that stay small. They also focus on local markets. Cash flow increases at a normal rate and then seems to like slowly stay/stop. IDE focuses on serving global markets. The cash flow of this is that you lose cash at the beginning but then you start gaining/take off because of the unlimited markets. There are three ways to start a company which are passion, tech, and an idea. Even if there different ways, people with passion have to join up with people who either have the tech or an idea because they usually don't have that. From there you have to have knowledge necessary but not sufficient. Also capability and connections in which you and your team work together and understanding you financial assets will dictate what markets are good for you. Name recognition can mean that you know them and about them but depending that if they know someone on your team means they'll call back. Past work experience, passion are pretty self explanatory and commitment is important because a person can have all the material ready but the person who is really committed till start to end is the one who can succeed.
I learned in being a leader, trust is where its at. You have to have trust in your employee in order for what needs to be done. There are two different leaderships styles which are good cop and bad cop. Good cop forgives and lets things slide. On the other hand, bad cops are the opposite. They give tough love in which they correct you and tell you what you need to do properly. If you so how disrespect them and not cut out for it then you are done. Human psychology also plays a big role in the business world because you are dealing with human beings and being one yourself. People change and others don't but you have to be happy with what your employees do and are. So you have to be able to manage and set expectations for them. There are so many ways you can manipulate and BE manipulated by others. Not everyone you know that work for you now are gonna work for you in the future. So eventually they have to be let go. There are 3 ways to letting go of someone: laying off, fired, and terminated. Laying off is when you don't have the job for them so the person didn't really do anything wrong. Terminated is when the person has to be let go for some whatever reason. Fired is when the person violated company polices/ legal policies.
I learned that it's very important to be agile in any venture and be lean. I didn't know what lean meant till now and it's a way of growing while minimizing waste. For example, a person buying so much of a product to customize it but no one is buying it or recognizing it. They went straight for it without thinking instead of buying little and see how it goes from there. MVP is another way to describe it which is minimum viable product. Angel investors are like private investors who support small businesses or business start ups and you have to form some type of relationship/connection for them to like you and help you. Now not every business is sent to be successful they most likely fail because people don't want or need it ad that's where pivot comes from. Pivot is a big change after its downfall. An example being instagram where it was a not so popular app named after a alcohol but after people taking pictures and uploading them it became instagram. A way to get a upper-hand in business is by shutting up and listen to what others have to say and helps with negotiating.
What I learned today was sole proprietorship which is working solo but it has its cons such as being personally liable meaning you aren't separate from your business money which potentially means your personal assets can be taken away. Partnership is pretty self explanatory, people being partners in a business and they share personal liability but in a general partnership. In a limited partnership one of the partners takes on unlimited liability meaning their personal assets are seized. C-corp protects you from lawsuits and you aren't personally liable and have limited liability but are much more expensive as well as B-corps. Also learned that for branding you have to get started into creating your company/business name and make sure no one else has it or you'll get in trouble. After that you must have a company gmail, slogan, logo, mission statement, etc.
Today I started off with the pre unit (quality of life) and decided to talk about how I want to improve and grow from topics such as health and time management. It was a good way to go over in what I need help on. Then I went to the entrepreneur unit and started looking at some articles and videos. I learned how I will need a break-even point for planning even if it's all going well because you may never know. Also how its good to know tacts when buying and selling like letting know the seller that you are not wasting their time and will actually gain from you and how you can manipulate the buyer.
Today I tried the unit of stocks because I always found it interesting but hard to understand and still do. But this unit helped me understand stock from the beginning etc. I read and looked through all the flashcards of key words in the unit and there was so much that sounded familiar but never knew about. I also decided on making a resume in which I'm still trying to perfect. Along with setting up a LinkedIn account.
Today I entered in some units I found interesting and tried to see what they are and look at some videos. I looked at video editing which captured my attention and I like how the videos the unit make it seem more interesting. I like freelancer video editing. It reminded me of when I used to make edits in a app called video star when I was like 13. Totally forgot till now but this unit made me want to try and see how I will do because it's been very long and forgotten everything about it
For the past two days I have informing myself with the different styles of writing because who knew there was this many. After looking at many articles and videos I found my style which is copywriting. It's simple, easy to inform, and it's a good way for call to action. This has helped me complete the assignment for this writing unit and will also help me in the future for marketing and etc.
I never really focused on video editing till now. I watched mostly all the videos of that unit and read it. I found it interesting because it seems like fun to play around with the video and make it seem good in the end but then again it's hard finding on how to edit and having skills. I for one know nothing about it and never tried it before but this made me want to somewhat try it.
What I learned today at techie youth was about selling and putting up some work up for sale. Although I had a rough start n the beginning on how to sell and find a place to sell I was able to somewhat understand more and find a website in which I can put some stuff up sale. Now I will be learning how to work with on making webs and understanding more about it.
Today I learned lots of information about business. Such as how not every business is led to succeed and how there will be many obstacles. I used to think how having no competition was a good thing but in reality when it comes to business it's not really a good thing it means it's not getting as much attention and so on. Not many stuff will sell and it's ok to accept that your business is failing because it just means an even greater one is about to begin instead of wasting time. Because of this I am now trying to sell some pants on Etsy to see how it goes.
Today was my first day working for Techie Youth online. I definitely viewed some stuff from another perspective like multitasking. Im usually a person who be multitasking everything and doesn't pay attention to my surrounding. However I learned this can affect me mentally and physically because I'm not keeping up at a pace that I can handle. Although by taking these few quizzes I learned what I know and what I need more knowledge on such as time management which I passed on the quiz but failed on the finance one meaning I will to continue to inform myself with it.
